Profile of Nicolas Maduro and Reasons United States Wants Arrest
Tangerang, January 23, 16:00, 2026
Nicolás Maduro Moros born November 23, 1962 is a Venezuelan politician who has served as the 65th President of Venezuela since 2013. Previously he served under President Hugo Chávez as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2006 to 2013 and as Vice President of Venezuela from 2012 to 2013.
According to NPR on Saturday, a new indictment unsealed in federal court in New York accuses Maduro of conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, and weapons violations.
Meanwhile, Flores and other senior Venezuelan officials, including Maduro's son, also face charges.
According to the indictment, Venezuelan leaders for more than 25 years have abused positions of public trust and corrupted once-legitimate institutions to import tons of cocaine into the United States.
The indictment alleges that, since early 1999, Maduro and his co-defendants have partnered with an international drug trafficking organization to ship illegal drugs to the US.
Prosecutors allege that Maduro and Flores worked together for years to smuggle cocaine that had previously been seized by Venezuelan law enforcement.
The US accuses the Maduro family of running state-backed gangs to protect their operations.
These gangs ordered the kidnappings, beatings, and murders of those who owed drug money or disrupted drug trafficking operations.
This new indictment adds to charges against Maduro and other Venezuelan officials announced in March 2020 during the first Trump administration. Maduro had denied the initial charges and called for dialogue with the US before his arrest.
Maduro was arrested in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, shortly after the US bombarded several locations in the city early Saturday (January 3rd local time).

The Ministry of Public Works stated that temporary housing for flood victims in Aceh Tamiang Regency was built using high-quality materials. The construction of these temporary housing units aims to provide decent and safe housing for disaster-affected residents.
Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo stated that the construction demonstrates the state's presence to ensure residents no longer have to endure forced contingency plans in refugee camps with limited facilities.
"We are committed to fully supporting the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). These temporary housing units are being built so that affected residents can immediately live in more decent, safe, and dignified places," Dody said, as quoted in a written statement on Saturday, December 3, 2025. He added that the temporary housing units will also be equipped with clean water and sanitation facilities.
Post-disaster response to the floods in Aceh has entered the next phase, including the construction of temporary housing for affected residents. In the initial phase, 600 temporary housing units have been built, with a target of 15,000 units in various disaster-affected areas.
Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah stated that the floods had a widespread impact on almost all of Aceh. Of the 18 affected regencies/cities, at least seven areas were severely impacted and required swift and collaborative response.
"We express our gratitude for the support provided. Construction progress is very rapid and is being carried out 24/7. We hope that the construction of this temporary housing will proceed in parallel with the rest of the recovery process," said Fadhlullah.
He emphasized the importance of land readiness from the district and provincial governments, as well as related parties, so that the next phase of construction can proceed quickly.
The temporary housing development program is part of a synergy between the central government, regional governments, and state-owned enterprises to ensure the availability of safe, adequate temporary housing that supports the recovery of disaster-affected communities.

Indonesian national team player Kevin Diks scores for his club Borussia Mönchengladbach in an away match against Heidenheim at the Voith-Arena in Heidenheim on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
However, this is not the first time Kevin Diks has scored a goal. Previously, FC Köln had witnessed his quality as he scored in a previous match. Interestingly, both his goals were scored from penalty situations, showing his composure and strong mentality when facing high-pressure moments.
After taking the lead, Gladbach came out aggressive. Their sustained pressure resulted in two further goals through Haris Tabakovic and Shuto Machino, securing a 3-0 win for Die Fohlen. The three additional points moved Kevin Diks and co up to 11th in the Bundesliga table with a total of 12 points from 11 matches.
The Bundesliga (German league) has been an important stage for Kevin Diks to prove that Southeast Asian players can compete at the highest level of European football. Through his performances, Diks not only represents his club but also brings pride and hope to soccer fans in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Insulted But Remaining Calm, Unexpectedly Forgiven: Bahlil's Plot Twist
The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia, is back in the public spotlight after his name was widely discussed on social media due to a meme that was considered offensive to him. Instead of getting angry or taking legal action, Bahlil chose an unexpected response, he forgave the creator and distributors of the meme.
“And I think, yes, if there are memes, I forgive them. It's okay. Actually, criticizing policies is fine. But if it's personal, if it's racist, I don't think that's good,” said Bahlil at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Friday (10/24/2025).
Bahlil said that he had been accustomed to being insulted since he was a child. He recounted his origins as a villager and not from a family of officials.
“I have indeed been accustomed to being insulted since I was a child. Because I am not the child of an official, I am the child of people from the village. My mother was only a laundry worker in people's homes, my father was a construction worker,” he said.
“So this insulting has been happening since I was in elementary school, when I was still a child. So in my opinion, it's okay,” continued Bahlil.
Bahlil's move has sparked mixed reactions online. Many netizens have praised his calmness and forgiving attitude, calling him an example of an official who does not easily get emotional amid intense public criticism.
Some even view this story as “the coolest plot twist in the political world this week.”
Bahlil's attitude demonstrates that in this fast-paced, emotionally charged digital age, humor and forgiveness can be a form of strength in themselves. Perhaps it's true what they say: not everything that goes viral needs to be met with anger sometimes, a smile and a cup of coffee are enough.

The Culture of “Healing”: A Mental Need or Just a Trend?
MindFuel
Tangerang, October 19, 2025, 18:00
On the phone screen, the evening waves glistened golden. A teenager wrote the caption: “Healing first, so I can be sane.” From coffee-scented cafes in Bandung to the white sands of Bali, the word ‘healing’ has become the mantra of the younger generation. It is no longer just about self-recovery, but a symbol of a relaxed lifestyle and “me time.”
This phenomenon is most commonly seen among teenagers and young workers (Gen Z and early millennials). They claim that “healing” activities help relieve stress from college assignments or work. However, psychologists believe that not all forms of “healing” truly address the mental aspects that a person needs. Some focus solely on temporary pleasures like vacationing or shopping, without truly understanding the root causes of their stress. In reality, true healing should involve a process of self-reflection and deeper emotional recovery.
This trend grew rapidly after the COVID-19 pandemic, when many people felt bored due to social restrictions. Since 2021, local tourist destinations and urban cafes have begun to use the term “healing spot” to attract visitors who want to “calm themselves.” Now, in almost every major city, the concept of a “healing-friendly” place can be found easily.
According to a NielsenIQ survey (2025), 69% of Indonesian consumers say that emotional and mental health is now more important than it was five years ago. This shows a growing awareness of the importance of life balance. However, on the other hand, the term “healing” is also often exploited commercially by the tourism and lifestyle industries, making it more of a social trend than a genuine psychological need.
Some people consider healing to be a healthy way to maintain mental balance, as long as it is done consciously. However, others see it as a form of temporary escape. For most young people, healing is now more about social experiences and self-expression on social media something that “must be posted” in order to appear happy and stress-free.
Healing culture reflects two sides of the current generation: the need for real mental calm, coupled with the urge to constantly follow social media trends. Perhaps true healing isn't about the place or activity, but about a person's ability to be at peace with themselves without having to prove it through posts.

Why Muslims struggle to progress, especially in Indonesia?
Honestly, I am a graduate of an Islamic boarding school, and sometimes I wonder why Muslims in Indonesia the largest Muslim population in the world still find it so difficult to progress. The answer is not always about economics or politics, but about the way of thinking. Many people still believe more in mystical things than in hard work and knowledge. For example, seeking blessings at the graves of holy people, taking “sacred” water that is said to bring good fortune, or believing that certain wells have special powers. Yet Islam itself teaches us to ask directly from Allah, not through objects or places.
This phenomenon can be found in many regions, even in today's digital age. On the one hand, people are diligent in their worship, but on the other hand, they are still easily swayed by irrational beliefs. Ultimately, time and energy are wasted on mystical rituals, rather than on learning, innovating, or working hard. Compare this to other countries where Muslims are a minority or even have no religion, they are able to progress because they think rationally, use science, and are disciplined. Meanwhile, here, many still blame “fate” when life is difficult.
So, actually, what makes it difficult for us to progress is not Islam itself, but the way some people understand Islam. We often forget that Islam is a very logical religion that encourages people to learn and think critically. But if the mindset is still to believe in “blessed water” or “prayers through stones,” when will we ever progress? How can we change? We must start with education and self-awareness. We must return to the basic teachings: tawakal (trust in God) comes after effort, not reliance on mystical things. If this mindset can be changed, I am sure that Indonesian Muslims will be much more advanced and independent.
Especially since there are people who often say,
“The world isn't important, what's important is the afterlife.”
me : "Aarghhhhhhhhh"
We also have to think rationally!!!

4 Naturalized Indonesian Players Make History in Competitive European Leagues !
Meanwhile, Kevin Diks has chosen to continue his career in Germany. After his contract with FC Copenhagen ended, the right-back joined Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free transfer in July 2024. This transfer makes Diks the latest Indonesian-descent player competing in the Bundesliga.
Jay Idzes to Sassuolo
Jay Idzes officially joined Sassuolo in the 2024 summer transfer window. This formidable defender previously played for Venezia and performed consistently in Serie B. Now, he has the opportunity to prove his quality in Serie A, Italy's top league, which is known for being tough and competitive.
Calvin Verdonk to Lille
From the Netherlands, Calvin Verdonk is stepping up to a bigger stage. He officially moved from NEC Nijmegen to LOSC Lille in the summer of 2024 for a transfer fee of around €3 million. This naturalized Indonesian national team left-back will now face new challenges in France's Ligue 1, one of Europe's most prestigious competitions.
Emil Audero to Como, then loaned to Cremonese
Emil Audero's name is also making waves. The goalkeeper, born in Mataram, was officially signed by Como from Sampdoria in July 2024 on a four-year contract. However, to secure more playing time, Como loaned him to Cremonese in July 2025. His presence strengthens the Serie A club's goalkeeping position while also extending the list of Indonesian-born players in Italy.
The moves of Jay Idzes, Emil Audero, Calvin Verdonk, and Kevin Diks to major European clubs demonstrate that naturalized players and those of Indonesian descent are increasingly being recognized. Their journeys in Europe's top leagues not only inspire young footballers in Indonesia but also bring pride to all Indonesian football fans.

Jakarta Song Exchange Festival Brings Music Lovers Together
According to Pestapora Festival Director Kiki Aulia Ucup, this idea was born from a desire to offer an experience that cannot be found at other music festivals.
“If we look at it, this year’s festival is quite challenging. So we’re trying to introduce elements that can serve as challenges for both performers and attendees. We want to try things that haven’t been done by other festivals,” Kiki Ucup explained in a press release received by Kompas.tv on Monday, July 21, 2025.
This event is not only a form of entertainment, but also a means of sharing and getting to know various genres of music. From pop, rock, jazz, to indie, everything can be heard and exchanged. Each visitor is invited to bring one of their favorite songs to play or share with others, so that everyone can go home with a new musical experience.
In addition to the song-sharing sessions, the festival is also enlivened by performances from local bands, music-making workshops, and a special area for jam sessions. Many visitors describe the event as a “new way to enjoy a music festival” because it offers the opportunity to truly interact, not just watch.
The organizers hope that the Jakarta Song Exchange Festival and Pestapora 2025 can become an annual event, as well as a platform to strengthen connections among music lovers. With its relaxed atmosphere, boundless creativity, and spirit of sharing, the festival successfully proves that music truly has the power to unite everyone.

Plan to Move the Capital to Nusantara (IKN)
July 9, 2025, 08:00
INSIGHT HARBOR
In my opinion, the idea of moving the capital from Jakarta to Nusantara (East Kalimantan) is a positive step that deserves support. This is not just about building a new city, but a real effort to promote equitable development outside of Java Island.
First, East Kalimantan was chosen because of its relatively safe location from natural disasters, vast land area, and strategic position at the heart of Indonesia. As outlined in Law No. 3 of 2022, Nusantara will be developed as an environmentally friendly smart city — meaning technology will be integrated with environmental conservation.
Second, the IKN project is expected to create numerous job opportunities. According to CNN Indonesia, this development could trigger an economic domino effect—stimulating activity in the agricultural, service, and infrastructure sectors in the surrounding areas.
Therefore, I support the relocation of the capital to Nusantara. As long as its implementation is well-planned, involves local communities, and safeguards the environment, this project could become a milestone for fair and sustainable progress for all of Indonesia.

Shameful! Talented University Student Criticized by Indonesian Netizens for Appearance
June 24, 2025, 18:00
INSIGHT HARBOR - One of the participants in the Clash of Champions Ruangguru Season 2, Zahran Nizar Fadhlan, has received criticism from netizens.
It is known that Zahran Nizar Fadhlan is a student at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a GPA of 3.94.
However, ironically, instead of receiving support or praise, Zahran has faced criticism from Indonesian netizens.
According to Poskota, citing the Instagram account @tvmania_id on Sunday, June 22, 2025, Zahran's appearance became the subject of mockery by some people.
“His face alone is enough to make many people laugh,” said one person.
Some other comments were even harsher, judging Zahran's appearance harshly without considering his achievements and efforts. Words like “resembles a Javanese ancestor” and “ugly face” appeared in the comment section, causing many people to be outraged by the increasingly unreasonable standards of netizens' judgments.
Yet, Zahran is no ordinary person. Besides having nearly perfect GPA, he has also won medals in various international science olympiads such as IPhO and IOAA. Unfortunately, all those achievements seem meaningless to those who only focus on physical appearance.
Ironically, the Clash of Champions event itself aims to highlight intelligent students and university students to inspire the younger generation. However, the negative comments from netizens have undermined the spirit and meaning of the event.
Many other netizens have spoken out in defense of Zahran. They argue that such criticism reflects how superficial some people still are in judging others. Hashtags like #SupportZahran and #AchievementNotAppearance began to emerge on various social media platforms.
Zahran himself has not directly responded to the comments. However, his composure during the event and his academic record speak volumes, effectively silencing the baseless criticism.
Zahran's case is not merely about appearance. It is about how we, as a society, must learn to be wiser in giving comments. Do we want to be known as a nation that supports achievements, or one that brings down talented young people simply because they do not meet the visual standards of the media?

INSIGHT HARBOR- President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Indonesian Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, officially opened the Indo Defense 2025 Expo & Forum at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (June 11, 2025). The event, themed “Defense Partnerships for Global Peace & Stability,” marks the 10th edition and is the largest defense industry exhibition on the global stage.
The opening ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” followed by a prayer and a report on the readiness of Indo Defence 2025 by the Indonesian Minister of Defense.
Defense Minister Sjafrie stated that Indo Defence, held from June 11 to 14, 2025, was attended by 1,180 exhibition participants, with confirmed attendance from 42 friendly nations through 659 foreign companies and 521 domestic manufacturers.
“Specifically reported to the President, in Indo Defence, many productions are now being led by the younger generation of the nation's children who possess the spirit of Indonesian technocratic nationalism. This signifies the era of the rise of the modern technocratic generation in Indonesia,” said Defense Minister Sjafrie.
This exhibition not only showcases modern defense equipment such as drones, radars, and combat vehicles, but also serves as a meeting place for stakeholders from the military, government, and defense industries.
Focus on Domestic Industry
The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Defense, emphasizes the importance of technology transfer and strengthening defense offsets. Indo Defense provides a platform for local industries such as PT Pindad, PT PAL, and PT Dirgantara Indonesia to showcase their capabilities and establish international cooperation.
According to an official statement from the organizers, Indo Defence 2025 will also serve as a platform for a number of MoUs and strategic agreements between Indonesia and its foreign partners regarding defense modernization.
The event then continued with the inauguration of the Indo Defense 2025 Expo and Forum, marked by the launch of the MV3-EV electric tactical vehicle produced by PT Pindad. The launch of the MV3-EV vehicle was carried out symbolically through the signing of a plaque and the naming of the vehicle by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. On this occasion, the President named the vehicle “Pandu”—inspired by the epic figure from the Mahabharata known as the pioneer or first leader—with the hope that it will become a pioneer in the development of national electric vehicles in the future.
