Profile of Nicolas Maduro and Reasons United States Wants Arrest
Tangerang, January 23, 16:00, 2026
Nicolás Maduro Moros born November 23, 1962 is a Venezuelan politician who has served as the 65th President of Venezuela since 2013. Previously he served under President Hugo Chávez as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2006 to 2013 and as Vice President of Venezuela from 2012 to 2013.
According to NPR on Saturday, a new indictment unsealed in federal court in New York accuses Maduro of conspiracy to commit narco-terrorism, conspiracy to import cocaine, and weapons violations.
Meanwhile, Flores and other senior Venezuelan officials, including Maduro's son, also face charges.
According to the indictment, Venezuelan leaders for more than 25 years have abused positions of public trust and corrupted once-legitimate institutions to import tons of cocaine into the United States.
The indictment alleges that, since early 1999, Maduro and his co-defendants have partnered with an international drug trafficking organization to ship illegal drugs to the US.
Prosecutors allege that Maduro and Flores worked together for years to smuggle cocaine that had previously been seized by Venezuelan law enforcement.
The US accuses the Maduro family of running state-backed gangs to protect their operations.
These gangs ordered the kidnappings, beatings, and murders of those who owed drug money or disrupted drug trafficking operations.
This new indictment adds to charges against Maduro and other Venezuelan officials announced in March 2020 during the first Trump administration. Maduro had denied the initial charges and called for dialogue with the US before his arrest.
Maduro was arrested in the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, shortly after the US bombarded several locations in the city early Saturday (January 3rd local time).

The Ministry of Public Works stated that temporary housing for flood victims in Aceh Tamiang Regency was built using high-quality materials. The construction of these temporary housing units aims to provide decent and safe housing for disaster-affected residents.
Public Works Minister Dody Hanggodo stated that the construction demonstrates the state's presence to ensure residents no longer have to endure forced contingency plans in refugee camps with limited facilities.
"We are committed to fully supporting the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB). These temporary housing units are being built so that affected residents can immediately live in more decent, safe, and dignified places," Dody said, as quoted in a written statement on Saturday, December 3, 2025. He added that the temporary housing units will also be equipped with clean water and sanitation facilities.
Post-disaster response to the floods in Aceh has entered the next phase, including the construction of temporary housing for affected residents. In the initial phase, 600 temporary housing units have been built, with a target of 15,000 units in various disaster-affected areas.
Aceh Deputy Governor Fadhlullah stated that the floods had a widespread impact on almost all of Aceh. Of the 18 affected regencies/cities, at least seven areas were severely impacted and required swift and collaborative response.
"We express our gratitude for the support provided. Construction progress is very rapid and is being carried out 24/7. We hope that the construction of this temporary housing will proceed in parallel with the rest of the recovery process," said Fadhlullah.
He emphasized the importance of land readiness from the district and provincial governments, as well as related parties, so that the next phase of construction can proceed quickly.
The temporary housing development program is part of a synergy between the central government, regional governments, and state-owned enterprises to ensure the availability of safe, adequate temporary housing that supports the recovery of disaster-affected communities.

Shameful! Talented University Student Criticized by Indonesian Netizens for Appearance
June 24, 2025, 18:00
INSIGHT HARBOR - One of the participants in the Clash of Champions Ruangguru Season 2, Zahran Nizar Fadhlan, has received criticism from netizens.
It is known that Zahran Nizar Fadhlan is a student at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) majoring in Aerospace Engineering with a GPA of 3.94.
However, ironically, instead of receiving support or praise, Zahran has faced criticism from Indonesian netizens.
According to Poskota, citing the Instagram account @tvmania_id on Sunday, June 22, 2025, Zahran's appearance became the subject of mockery by some people.
“His face alone is enough to make many people laugh,” said one person.
Some other comments were even harsher, judging Zahran's appearance harshly without considering his achievements and efforts. Words like “resembles a Javanese ancestor” and “ugly face” appeared in the comment section, causing many people to be outraged by the increasingly unreasonable standards of netizens' judgments.
Yet, Zahran is no ordinary person. Besides having nearly perfect GPA, he has also won medals in various international science olympiads such as IPhO and IOAA. Unfortunately, all those achievements seem meaningless to those who only focus on physical appearance.
Ironically, the Clash of Champions event itself aims to highlight intelligent students and university students to inspire the younger generation. However, the negative comments from netizens have undermined the spirit and meaning of the event.
Many other netizens have spoken out in defense of Zahran. They argue that such criticism reflects how superficial some people still are in judging others. Hashtags like #SupportZahran and #AchievementNotAppearance began to emerge on various social media platforms.
Zahran himself has not directly responded to the comments. However, his composure during the event and his academic record speak volumes, effectively silencing the baseless criticism.
Zahran's case is not merely about appearance. It is about how we, as a society, must learn to be wiser in giving comments. Do we want to be known as a nation that supports achievements, or one that brings down talented young people simply because they do not meet the visual standards of the media?

INSIGHT HARBOR- President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, accompanied by Indonesian Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, officially opened the Indo Defense 2025 Expo & Forum at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in Kemayoran, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (June 11, 2025). The event, themed “Defense Partnerships for Global Peace & Stability,” marks the 10th edition and is the largest defense industry exhibition on the global stage.
The opening ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem “Indonesia Raya,” followed by a prayer and a report on the readiness of Indo Defence 2025 by the Indonesian Minister of Defense.
Defense Minister Sjafrie stated that Indo Defence, held from June 11 to 14, 2025, was attended by 1,180 exhibition participants, with confirmed attendance from 42 friendly nations through 659 foreign companies and 521 domestic manufacturers.
“Specifically reported to the President, in Indo Defence, many productions are now being led by the younger generation of the nation's children who possess the spirit of Indonesian technocratic nationalism. This signifies the era of the rise of the modern technocratic generation in Indonesia,” said Defense Minister Sjafrie.
This exhibition not only showcases modern defense equipment such as drones, radars, and combat vehicles, but also serves as a meeting place for stakeholders from the military, government, and defense industries.
Focus on Domestic Industry
The Indonesian government, through the Ministry of Defense, emphasizes the importance of technology transfer and strengthening defense offsets. Indo Defense provides a platform for local industries such as PT Pindad, PT PAL, and PT Dirgantara Indonesia to showcase their capabilities and establish international cooperation.
According to an official statement from the organizers, Indo Defence 2025 will also serve as a platform for a number of MoUs and strategic agreements between Indonesia and its foreign partners regarding defense modernization.
The event then continued with the inauguration of the Indo Defense 2025 Expo and Forum, marked by the launch of the MV3-EV electric tactical vehicle produced by PT Pindad. The launch of the MV3-EV vehicle was carried out symbolically through the signing of a plaque and the naming of the vehicle by the President of the Republic of Indonesia. On this occasion, the President named the vehicle “Pandu”—inspired by the epic figure from the Mahabharata known as the pioneer or first leader—with the hope that it will become a pioneer in the development of national electric vehicles in the future.

Singkawang City Government sends illegal racing children to military camps
Singkawang, 5 May 2025 - In an effort to reduce illegal racing that is increasingly prevalent on a number of roads in Singkawang, the Mayor of Singkawang, Mr. Tjhai Chui Mie, revealed his plan to send children involved in illegal racing to barracks as part of a rehabilitation program.
This step was taken in response to complaints from the community who were concerned about safety, order and the negative impact of illegal racing. According to the Mayor of Singkawang, this action is not merely to punish, but to provide education and guidance to perpetrators, especially young people who have fallen into the culture of wild racing.
“We took this step as a form of the seriousness of the Singkawang City Government to curb illegal racing,” Tjhai Chui Mie told reporters, Monday (5/5/2025).
In this program, underage perpetrators of illegal racing will be sent to barracks to undergo a coaching program that includes physical training, technical skills, as well as mental education and discipline. The program is expected to reduce teenagers' interest in illegal racing and guide them to a more positive path.
However, this plan has received mixed responses from the community. Some residents appreciate this decisive step, while others hope for a more preventive approach through education and awareness campaigns.
The Singkawang City Government is committed to continue working with the police and educational institutions to monitor the progress of this program and ensure that children involved in illegal racing get the opportunity to change and develop better.
It is hoped that with this program, Singkawang can reduce the phenomenon of illegal racing and create a safer environment and support the development of a more productive young generation.
