In my opinion, the idea of moving the capital from Jakarta to Nusantara (East Kalimantan) is a positive step that deserves support. This is not just about building a new city, but a real effort to promote equitable development outside of Java Island.
First, East Kalimantan was chosen because of its relatively safe location from natural disasters, vast land area, and strategic position at the heart of Indonesia. As outlined in Law No. 3 of 2022, Nusantara will be developed as an environmentally friendly smart city — meaning technology will be integrated with environmental conservation.
Second, the IKN project is expected to create numerous job opportunities. According to CNN Indonesia, this development could trigger an economic domino effect—stimulating activity in the agricultural, service, and infrastructure sectors in the surrounding areas.
Therefore, I support the relocation of the capital to Nusantara. As long as its implementation is well-planned, involves local communities, and safeguards the environment, this project could become a milestone for fair and sustainable progress for all of Indonesia.
