Pekalongan Residents Are Excited! Water Suddenly Appears from the Ground, Thought It Was a Magic Spring, Turns Out It Was PDAM Joking Around

 

Pekalongan, April 22, 2025 – Residents of a corner of a village in Pekalongan suddenly becameexcited this morning, at around 06.30 WIB. The reason was, water suddenly appeared from underground in theyard of one of the residents' houses. The atmosphere was similar to the religious soap opera episode "Datangnya Rejeki dari Dalam Tanah." But it turned out, after investigating... it was just a leaking PDAM pipe!

"I thought someone had opened a portal to another world," said Mr. Rudi, a local resident, who was taking a morning walk while carrying stuffed tofu. "The water kept gushing out, even though I hadn't had time to brew coffee."

Sulastri, the homeowner who was directly affected, initially panicked because she saw her yard slowly turning into a pond. "I thought my neighbor's well had broken or there was new groundwater. Eh, it turned out that the PDAM was just messing around," she said with a chuckle.

PDAM officers who arrived at around 08.00 WIB confirmed that the water came from a leaking distribution pipe. “Relax, Ma’am, it’s not mystical, it’s just our pipes that are tired from working all the time,” joked one of the officers while checking the water pressure using a wrench.

Although it caused a commotion, this incident became morning entertainment for the residents. The children had time to play in the puddle, until finally they were dispersed by the voices of mothers from the terrace, “That’s not a pool, Sis, that’s next month’s water bill if we don’t fix it soon!”

PDAM Pekalongan ensured that the repairs were targeted to be completed before the afternoon. Residents were asked to be patient if the water flow was disrupted. “We’ll try to do it quickly, Ma’am. Because we’re also afraid of being attacked by mothers who haven’t been able to wash clothes and mop,” added the technician who also hadn’t had time for breakfast.
